WILKS PARK

Public BBQ

Wilks Park serves as an official 72-hour free camping area for self-contained vehicles in Wagga Wagga, with space for 30-40 caravans and motorhomes on flat, grassed terrain. The site sits along the river within walking distance of town shops, pubs, and grocery stores via a bridge crossing. Facilities include a toilet block, dump point for grey water, BBQ facilities, and an undercover seating area with tables and chairs. The park offers both shaded and sunny camping spots throughout the expansive grounds. A walking and cycling path runs through the area, and the adjacent lake provides fishing access. The toilet facilities are located at one end of the large site and generally maintain reasonable cleanliness. While the ground can become wet after rain and some bins may overflow on busy weekends, the area provides a secure, quiet camping environment with level parking options scattered throughout. The park caters specifically to self-contained recreational vehicles rather than tents.
